Argon Pure - 30 Litre (SuperMaxx®)
The new 300 bar SuperMaxx Cylinder Package offers up to more than double the gas compared to our 20 Litre cylinder. SuperMaxx cylinders are now equipped with an improved safety guard and NEVOC valve.
The SuperMaxx 300 bar gas cylinder has a longer weld time and holds more gas when compared to a standard gas cylinder, so is ideal for use in the fabrication, manufacturing, construction and automotive industries and for high-volume gas users, where a high-capacity 300 bar cylinder will help you to make productivity savings and reduce stock holdings.
Argon is the most common gas for TIG welding both carbon and low alloy steels. Our Argon is best suited for welding low-alloy steels where high-precision joints and excellent surface finish are more important than high productivity. This is because Arc initiation is easy but welding speeds are relatively slow.
Our Argon Pure is filled to the highest quality, meeting or exceeding ISO 14175:2008 standards.
Advantages
- Has a purity level of 99.998% - ideal for welding purposes.
- Low ionising potential allows easy forming of a welding arc without reacting with the metal components being welded.
- When welding thicker materials, other gases are added to the argon base to produce a more fluid weld pool.
Applications
- All of the major applications of argon are related to the production, processing and fabrication of metals. The role of argon is nearly always to exclude atmospheric air from contact with metal alloys. An example of this is as a purging gas to protect weld areas, such as the inside of pipes during welding.
- The predominant gas used in shielding gases because it forms a very good shield due to the high density and total inertness.
- Used on a wide range of ferrous and non-ferrous materials for welding and cutting.
- Major component in most shielding gas mixtures for arc welding and cutting due to low ionising potential.
Fabrications
- (TIG) Carbon Steel
- (TIG) Aluminium & Mangan Alloys
- (TIG) Copper, Cypro & Nickel Alloys
- (TIG) Titanium Alloys
- (TIG) Stainless Steel
